It's really all about being outside in the elements. Bare feet on the shoreline. Breathing in that fresh lake air. That perfect sound when your line hits the water. That feeling of docking the boat on the sand while you break for a bit before heading back out. A hike to your favorite quiet place to cast for a while.

​In the summer of 2021, I was sitting around the table with my wife and kids when the idea for Hooked Up Fishing Gear & Archery was born. I remember saying, “Spruce Grove doesn’t have a fishing store. We should open one!” Just eight weeks later, the storefront purchase was finalized and the build began.

I’d had many ideas over the years, but this one felt 'right'. As a long-time local resident and a father of 4, who loves spending time outdoors with my family; I wanted to make it easier for other families to do the same. The goal was simple: spend less time driving into the city for supplies and more time enjoying the outdoors—whether that meant an afternoon at the lake or a quick escape into nature.

By March of 2024, the store had more than doubled its inventory and expanded further with the addition of an in-house archery pro shop through a partnership with Lawrence from Accurate Archery. Fully equipped for bow sales, tuning, and service, this marked a major step forward in our growth.

Growth like that made one thing clear: the vision had outgrown the space. What started as a small, community-focused fishing shop had become something much bigger, setting the stage for the next chapter—our shift, expansion, and eventual relocation to Barrhead County to create a property that could truly support everything we had built and everything still to come.
